PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire detector by which a large monitoring range is secured, cleaning property is improved, and the miniaturization and cost down of the whole detector is attained. SOLUTION: In a fire detector 30 which is provided with a detection window 34 formed nearly in the center of a main body cover 31, a test light source 35 and a photodetective sensor 41 provided in the neighborhood of the rear surface 34b of the detection window 34 to photodetect light from a testing light source and which detects a fire by detecting light from flames with the sensor 41, a testing window 37 has a emitting surface 37a which is formed in the neighborhood of the outer side of the surface 34a of the detection window 34, which emits the light of the light source 35 toward the sensor 41 in the state of refracting and which is formed obliquely to the surface 34a so as to expand outward from the window 34 side.
