PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a directory information editing apparatus that is equipped with all the standard interface associated with an LDAP such as communication by the LDAP, LDAP command tool, input-output of an LDIF file. SOLUTION: Directory information is exchanged with every directory server 5. When editing the directory information stored in the directory server 5, the directory information is acquired through either standard interface of the LDAP command tool executive 32 or an LDIF file input-output part 33 to list and display the directory information by an editing means 11. A definition information check part 34 checks whether the directory information is conformed to the definition. A data conversion part 35 converts the directory information from an identification name into a relative identification name and link information to an upper object, which are edited by the editing means 11 and transmitted to the directory server 5.
