PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line sensor which reduces differences of an image generated in the center of the image. SOLUTION: The line sensor has its sensing elements divided into odd- numbered and even-numbered and right and left elements and outputs their image signals. The image signals of the odd-numbered and even-numbered elements are mutually put together by a composition part, image processing is carried out, and a rearrangement part rearranges the odd-numbered and even-numbered image signals. Consequently, even if processing conditions of an image processing part are different, the image signals are rearranged, pixel by pixel, so a formed image has no difference in picture quality, etc., between the right and left of the image.
