PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-mode communication device configured to selectively use the FDD(Frequency Division Duplex) communication system or the TDD(Time Division Duplex) communication system that can effectively utilize frequencies even for asymmetrical communication traffic. SOLUTION: A communication mode changeover section 20 comprises high frequency switches 21-27 and frequency common use devices 28, 29, and a communication mode control section 60 switches the high frequency switches 21-27 to select the FDD communication system or the TDD communication system. In this case, changeover switches 81-84 of a changeover section 80 of a base band circuit 30c are switched to allow an adaptive control section 70 to conduct processing.
