PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for creating a prerequisite for more easily determining a region for which a volume data set is to be acquired in a method for determining the position and size of a marking which is mixed into a topogram of an organism imaged by a computed tomograph and defines a region of the organism for which a volume data set of the organism is to be acquired. SOLUTION: This method is provided with a step (a) for preparing the topogram, a step (b) for analyzing image data corresponding to the topogram and a step (c) for aligning and operating the gantry of the computed tomograph on the basis of the analysis so that the volume data set can be acquired over all the region.
