PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device of a microscope, which can ensure a frame rate without losing the framing or focus operability even when a sample is dark and avoid disturbance in sample observation due to deteriorated S/N. SOLUTION: In the image pickup device for a microscope where an amplifier section 14 amplifies the output from an image pickup element 11 for picking up an image of a microscope main body 1 and the amplified image is processed and displayed on a display section 20, a photometric value corresponding to the lightness of the observed image is acquired, an exposure arithmetic means 171 calculates a proper exposure time on the basis of the acquired photometric value, and an exposure time of the image pickup element 11 and the gain of the amplifier section 14 are set on the basis of the result of comparison between the calculated proper exposure time and a preset limit exposure time by an exposure control means 172. |
