PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform program information display which allows easy access to program information. SOLUTION: When information related to programs corresponding to respective divisions divided by prescribed broadcasting time bands channels are displayed in display areas of the divisions on a display picture, a prescribed number of programs are taken as the object to display program information with respect to a division where the number of corresponding programs exceeds the prescribed number (Figure 1 (a)). When a division where program information is displayed is instructed, more detailed program information of programs corresponding to this division is displayed in a display area larger than the display area of each division on the display picture (Figure 1 (b)).
