PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processing unit with a high S/N without increasing noise. SOLUTION: A delay element 4 shifts the output of a preamplifier 2 for a half period of one pixel. A switch 3 selectively switches the output of the preamplifier 2 and effective parts (T3, T4) of an output of the delay element 4. Thus, the effective part of the resulting signal is increased compared with that of an original signal and signal attenuation in an output of an LPF 5 can remarkably be reduced compared with that in the conventional case. Thus, the S/N that is a ratio of a signal to noise can be much improved by the absence of signal attenuation.
