PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane for hemocatharsis which suppress the activation of platelet represented by platelet adhesiveness, which has proper hydrophilicity capable of suppressing and reducing the activation of a blood coagulation system and which has less eluate from the membrane and to provide a method for purifying it and a blood purifier. SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane for hemocatharsis consists of a hydrophobic polymer and a hydrophilic polymer and has a granular water swelling body at least on the blood contact surface of the membrane. The method for manufacturing the hollow fiber membrane for hemocatharsis has a coagulation process for discharging polymer solution obtained by dissolving the hydrophobic polymer and hydrophilic polymer from the annular slit of a double tubular spinning cap, discharging a coagulating core agent from the center of the cap simultaneously and subsequently soaking the discharged polymer solution in the bath of coagulating liquid to form the hollow fiber membrane, a washing process for washing the hollow fiber membrane obtained by the coagulation process, a heat treatment process for heat-treating the bundle of the washed hollow fiber membranes in the state of keeping water, and a drying process for heat-dry-treating the heat-treated hollow fiber membranes.
