PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion which contains a polyester resin, is made without using an endocrine disruptor such as bisphenol A for a raw material and is used for coating the inside of a can to form a coating film excellent in retorting resistance. SOLUTION: This aqueous dispersion contains a copolyester resin grafted with a radical-polymerizable monomer having a hydrophilic group or a functional group that can be converted into a hydrophilic group, and a hydrophobic resin. The process for producing the aqueous dispersion is characterized in that the graft polyester resin is neutralized with a basic compound. This coating film is formed from the aqueous dispersion.
