METHOD FOR PROCESSING COLOR STILL IMAGE IN PROVIDING WIRELESS MULTIMEDIA MASSAGING SERVICE

PURPOSE: A method for processing a color still image in providing a wireless multimedia massaging service is provided to minimize the deterioration in the quality of the color still image by increasing color information content of face or specific objects. CONSTITUTION: A method for processing a color still image in providing a wireless multimedia massaging service includes the steps of configuring a mapping table increasing information content of a predetermined color and decreasing information content except the predetermined color with regard to the color still image(308); compressing the still image by increasing the information content of the predetermined color and decreasing the information content except the predetermined color by applying the mapping table to the still image photographed by a camera(309); and encoding the compressed still image by using a still image compression algorithm, and storing and transmitting the encoded still image with the corresponding table number(310-312).
