PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes drying bar rest with a novel structure and a method for using and housing the same, in which the clothes drying bar rest is folded small by being highly unfolded, having toughness and securely maintaining an extended form during extension. SOLUTION: The clothes drying bar rest is provided with a fixing member 3 comprising a cylindrical housing part 9 provided on one side able to be fixed onto a fence 2 or the like of a porch, a sliding rod 4 inserted inside the cylindrical housing part 9, slidable up and down, connected or released in a sliding direction via a stopper 12 and having an appropriate length and an arm member 8 facing a flat part 20 of an arm fixture fixed on the top end. A pin shaft 23 is slidably and rotatably provided on a long hole 22 of the arm member 8. Another pin shaft 24 allowing a cutout 25 provided on a base 21 to project from the flat part 20 is retained with the arm member 8 at about 40 deg. from the level. A plurality of holes 7 for clothes drying bars to be penetrated are provided in the longitudinal direction of the arm member 8.
