PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alias retrieval device capable of efficiently and precisely obtaining only an alias name with respect to some specific symbol. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a retrieving object designation part for designating a specific symbol which is subjected to retrieving, an alias diagraph creating part for creating an alias diagraph expressing with which symbol some symbol can indicate the same substance, and an alias retrieval part which refers to this alias diagraph, registers all the traceable symbols as alias names when tracing the alias diagraph in a positive direction with a designated specific symbol as a start point, registers all the traceable symbols as alias names when tracing the alias diagraph in a negative direction with each symbol registered as the alias names as a start point and makes the registered symbol the alias name of the specific symbol.
