PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a article, with which character input in the case of mailing using a mobile or wired telephone can be more easily performed compared with an existing input means. SOLUTION: In the KANA character input determining means using a small number of keys, such as ten key in communication equipment, respective rows are assigned to respective number keys. When inputting the first column of each of rows, after each of number keys is pressed continuously longer than a certain specific time, the key is released so that the character input of the first column performed by each of keys can be determined. The specific time is between 0.3 sec and 1 sec. hereafter, the specific time is represented by T. Next, when inputting the second column of each of rows, after each of number keys is pressed within the time T and released, the same key is pressed and released again so that the character input of the second column can be determined. Besides, when inputting a KANA character after the third column of each of rows, after each of number keys is pressed and released within the time T and a combined key assigned individually for inputting the character after the third column to be pressed secondly is pressed and released again so that the character input after the third column can be determined. In such a case, this means has a function capable of KANJI conversion even after the KANA character input is determined.
