PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for stably traveling a tape in a cutting process out of various processes for manufacturing a magnetic tape as a product by cutting a film with magnetic coating coated thereon in a predetermined width, capable of preventing meandering of the tape and stabilizing tape quality. SOLUTION: The device for stably traveling a tape 8 includes an outer cylinder for rotating through a clutch and a nip roll for circumscribing on the outer cylinder and rotating, and travels the tape by holding the tape by an outer peripheral traveling part of the outer cylinder and an outer peripheral surface of the nip roll. The outer peripheral traveling part 6c of the outer cylinder 6 is formed of slip-resistant material.
