PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting method which enables the execution of work not only on a horizontal plane such as a roof floor of a building but also on a steep concrete surface such as a slope and a retaining wall, and can reduce necessary materials, the number of processes, a construction cost and a construction period. SOLUTION: A protrusion fitting 2 is mounted on a construction surface 1 on which planting has to be carried out; a highly durable adhesive 3 is applied to a protrusion 2a of the protrusion fitting 2; a vegetation mat 5 is bonded to the protrusion fitting 2 by the adhesive 3 in a state in which the protrusion of 2a is inserted into the vegetation mat 5; and fixation to the protrusion fitting 2 makes the vegetation mat 5 stuck directly on the construction surface 1. After that, a void part of the vegetation mat 5 is filled with joint soil 6. Thus, the vegetation mat 5, which is filled with the joint soil 6, is constructed on the construction surface 1, and the planting using plants 4 of the vegetation mat 5 can be provided for the construction surface 1.
