CAISSON PROPELLING METHOD AND CAISSON FOR USE THEREIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved caisson propelling method which can safely and smoothly insert a caisson in the ground without incurring road settlement or the like, and to provide the caisson for use in the method. SOLUTION: According to the caisson propelling method, a fluid filler 60 which has not solidifiability in itself is injected into a gap between pipe roofs 30 and the caisson 10 at predetermined pressure, and outflow of the fluid filler 60 is prevented by a fluid sealing means 11 arranged at an outer edge of a cutting edge 15. In this manner, the caisson 10 is propelled while the fluid filler 60 is filled in a fracture of the natural ground formed by the pipe roofs and the caisson.
