PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club supporting device capable of supporting the selection of an optional club corresponding to the situation of a course and the ball hitting ability of a player by being carried by the player himself/herself during a golf game. SOLUTION: An arithmetic unit 23 obtains course information from a storage device 24 and displays it on a display 22. The player designates a start point P1 (a position where a ball is placed) and an end point P2 (a predicted ball reaching position) with a touch pen 26 while looking at course information displayed on the display device 22. Then, the arithmetic unit 23 calculates the linear distance between the P1 and P2, and calculates a shot distance by using the linear distance between the P1 and P2 and a constant determined by the situation of the course. Then, the arithmetic device 23 compares the shot distance with personal information on the maximum flying distance of each club stored in the storage device 24 to calculate an optimal club and swing intensity. The optimal club and swing intensity are displayed on the display device.
