PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water dew generated inside a luminaire underground box from dropping on an illuminating lamp and the like. SOLUTION: An underground lighting system comprises the luminaire underground box 2 provided with a translucent part 1 at a top surface and buried in the underground, a concave mirror 4 arranged in a substantially central position of a bottom surface and internally mounted with the illuminating lamp 3 to reflect light of the illuminating lamp 3 upward, and a lighting device 5 including the concave mirror 4. The translucent part 1 is swollen upward. An upper surface of the concave mirror 4 between an open end of the concave mirror 4 and the illuminating lamp 3 is provided with a cannel portion encircling the illuminating lamp 3.
