PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape measuring device of a square glass plate capable of measuring longitudinal and lateral sizes and perpendicularities of four corners highly accurately in a short time with heightened reproducibility without generating a fault. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a moving table 2 provided on a base 1, capable of being reciprocated linearly in the horizontal direction, a rotary table 8 provided reversibly rotatably around a vertical axis on the moving table for placing the square glass plate W thereon horizontally, a positioning means 10 provided on the base at one end part of a moving route of the moving table, for positioning the center of the square glass plate placed on the rotary table at the rotation center of the rotary table, two laser range finders 14 provided on the base by being arranged oppositely on both sides of the moving route of the moving table, for measuring the distance from the side of the square glass plate, and a control/operation means for controlling the motion of the moving table or the like, and operating the longitudinal and lateral sizes and the perpendicularities of the four corners of the square glass plate from data of both laser range finders.
