PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guidance system which is easy to use and shows the latest information on the circumference of a destination visually plainly. SOLUTION: A user requests a provider 2 to distribute 3D-map information by using a portable terminal 1. The requested provider 2 distributes a rough 2D map of a specified area and expects the user to specify his or her present position. The user specifies the present position in the 2D map and sends it out together with scale information on a desired 3D map. At this request, the service provider 2 distributes a 3D map image of the specified area. The user specifies and sends a direction in which that the user will move according to the distributed 3D image and new 3D map information is distributed one after another according to the indication.
