PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which can achieve good flame retardancy without compounding a conventional flame retardant, thereby hardly gives loads to environments, and has excellent wet heat resistance, and is suitable for recycling. SOLUTION: This flame retardant resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts. wt. of at least one thermoplastic resin selected from an aromatic polycarbonate resin, a polyphenylene ether-based resin, and a polyarylate resin, (B) 0.005 to 5 pts.wt. of a fluorine-containing resin having a fibril-forming ability, (C) (w) pts.wt. of a metal silicate comprising at least a metal oxide component and SiO2 component, wherein the (w) satisfies the condition of formula (1) : 50<=(10<(p-7)> )×w<=1,000 [(p) is the pH value of the component C, determined by the method described in the specification].
