PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AGC controlling method for holding each channel signal to be amplified and outputted at a prescribed signal level in a repeater for collectively amplifying one signal consisting of a plurality of channel channels. SOLUTION: Each channel signal to be amplified and outputted is held at a prescribed signal level by adaptively changing the reference signal level of a control part for collectively amplifying one signal consisting of a plurality of channel signals, detecting the existence of each channel signal and generating an error signal for executing AGC in accordance with the number of input signals.
