PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-sensitivity color image with low Dmin and high Dmax which can be digitally processed and has little processing irregularity by easy and rapid processing by using color negative film used widely at present. SOLUTION: In this image forming method in which silver halide color photographic sensitive material and a processing member are superposed under the existence of a water medium for forming an image while they are consecutively carried, whereby heat development is performed, relation among the time (Sa: second) to absorb the water medium for forming the image of the photographic sensitive material, the time (Sb: second) to absorb the water medium for forming the image of the processing member and carrying speed (V: cm/second) satisfies following usual expressions (1) and (2). The usual expression (1) is 1 <=Sa×V<=600 and the usual expression (2) is 1<=Sb×V<=600.
