PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide at low cost a light guide bundle that can be used for an endoscope, a remote position illuminator, etc., that can improve the space occupation factor of an optical fiber core at the light incident port on the light source end of the bundle as well as at the light emitting port, and that can enhance heat resistance at the terminal of the bundle, and also to provide the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A large number of plastic-clad optical fibers (PCF) 3 are put together in which the core material 1 is quartz while the clad 2 is plastic resin, and are then bundled with a binding material 6. Then, the clad material is removed at the terminal of the large number of PCF's 3, a glass-based solidifying agent 4 having a lower refractive index than that of the quartz of the core material is applied to the multitude of exposed cores 1, which is then inserted into a terminal fixture 5. After that, this core part is heated and hardened with the end face polished at both terminals to form a light guide bundle 10.
