PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of an exhaust condition by suppressing the discharge of the unburned fuel and remaining of the unburned fuel in an intake port 10a or the like as much as possible when an engine 1 is stopped in a case in which an injector 16 is provided on the intake port 10a of a spark ignition engine 1, and the fuel is injected at the predetermined injection timing in each combustion cycle of a cylinder 2. SOLUTION: When the engine 1 is stopped, an ISC control valve 19 is closed to reduce the intake air volume to the cylinders 2, etc., compared with that during an idling operation (Step SA11), and the fuel injection control by an injector 16 is completed (Step SA12). The fuel mixture sucked from the intake port 10a into the cylinder 2 in the subsequent combustion cycle is ignited and burned. When the engine speed ne reaches the preset ECU stop rotational speed ne* or under (Step SA14), the power supply to an ECU 30 is stopped, and the ignition control for each cylinder 2 is also completed (Step SA16).
