PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting field winding assembly which does not have weak points of a hollow core liquid-cooling type superconducting field winding assembly for a rotor having a publicly known superconducting coil winding. SOLUTION: This rotor has a rotor core 22 having at least one conduit extending through the core 22, at least one tension rod 42 extending between a pair of side sections 40 of a coil winding 34 and through the at least one conduit of the rotor, and a heat insulator 52 in the conduit thermally separating the tension rod from the rotor.
