PURPOSE: A ground compaction method using a hydraulic hammer is provided to make construction site to be approached easily by minimizing ground vibration and noise and to heighten constructability, applicative efficiency and economical efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The ground compaction method using a hydraulic hammer comprises the steps of: operating an excavator(3) and moving into a layer for improvement; after adhering a compaction plate(8) closely to the ground for improvement, operating a hydraulic hammer(6) and ascending an inner weight(7) of the hydraulic hammer(6) to a height of 1¯1.2 meters from the ground; and free-falling the weight(7) ascended by the hydraulic hammer(6) continuously and repeatedly to add an impact on the compaction plate(8), so that the ground is improved/tamped with the impact energy.
