PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the manual operability of opening/closing position movement of a falling prevention member to prevent articles on a steel-made shelf board from falling. SOLUTION: A band plate shape falling prevention plate 1 is almost vertically erected around the end part 3a for taking in/out articles on a shelf board 3 supported by a support 2. Articles are prevented from falling from the shelf board 2 at a position A of the erected article falling prevention plate and the falling prevention board 11 is moved to a non-active position B almost vertically suspended down in front of the shelf board 3 so as not to obstruct taking in/out articles. In this device constituted like that, both end parts of the falling prevention plate 11 are supported by a reverse-U-shape guide groove part 28 of an attaching bracket 21 attached on the support 2, the falling prevention plate 11 is moved from the article falling prevention position A to the non-active position B by toppling the falling prevention plate 11 from a proximal upper side to a proximal lower side turning upside down in a reverse-U-shape movement track, and from the non-active position B to the article falling prevention position A by reverse motion.
