PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential amplifier in which switching from standby to active is accelerated and wave distortion is reduced. SOLUTION: The differential amplifier is provided with a differential amplifier circuit (1), an output circuit (2), bias voltage generating circuits (608, 610), a control switch (609) which controls the bias voltage generating circuits, a cutoff switch (103) provided on an output of the output circuit (2) to cut off output signals from the output circuit (2), a delay means (101) to set the control timing of the cutoff switch (103) behind that of the control switch. The amplifier is configured to obtain output signals from an output of the cutoff switch (103). When the amplifier is switched from standby to normal operation state, the switch (103) is opened till the bias voltage becomes stabilized lest output transient response distortion is output to the outside.
