PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope apparatus which enables an observer to automatically carry out a series of operations to perform photography by adjusting a light quantity without requiring specific skill, a light controllable apparatus and a light control method. SOLUTION: This microscope apparatus has a light source (8) for illuminating a specimen, control means (12) for setting the brightness of the light source, adjusting means (11a) for adjusting the brightness of the light source in accordance with the set value of the brightness from the control means, judging means (11d) for outputting a standby completion signal to the extent that the brightness of the light source attains stability upon lapse of the preset standby time after judging the completion of the changing operation of the brightness by the control means and outputting means (11c) for outputting at least one of the light and sound in accordance with the standby completion signal.
