PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device in which a memory area for a function which is not used often by a user can be allocated as a memory area for a desired function. SOLUTION: In the case of exceeding the maximum number of items for a memory area M1 for the memory dial of a storage part 6 when registering a new memory dial, a memory area editing menu is started to calculate a residual memory quantity, and a part of another memory area is allocated to the memory area M1 for the memory dial.
