PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for filling a gap, which fills a gap between a piece of furniture and a neighboring matter such as a wall, widely deals with gaps with different dimensions, is filled in a gap without adjusting gap dimensions. SOLUTION: This member 11 for filling a gap 7 between the piece of furniture 20 and the neighboring matter 23 is composed of a projecting body 5 with an almost U-shape section whose open side end parts (51, 51) are inserted into a side board 21 of the furniture 20 and an elastic body 4 built in the projecting body 5 so that one side abuts on the abutting part 52 of the projecting body 5 and the other side on the side board 21 of the furniture 20. The furniture is assembled so as the abutting part 52 of the projecting body 5 to be pressed against the furniture 20 side.
