PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape winder which carries out a process for writing a servo signal in a magnetic tape, and a process for winding up the magnetic tape having the servo signal written to the tape reel of a magnetic tape cartridge with one apparatus, and in which a yield of a product is improved by preventing the defect of the magnetic tape. SOLUTION: The tape winder 10 is provided with a feed reel 11 to feed a magnetic tape MT1 in which a servo signal is not written, and a winding shaft 12 into which the tape reel 41 of the magnetic tape cartridge is inserted. A first write head H1, a first inspection head H2, an erasing head H3, a second write head H4, and a second inspection head H5 are arranged in order between the feed reel 11 and the winding shaft 12.
