BATTERY AND ELECTRIC DOUBLE-LAYER CAPACITOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized battery and an electric double-layer capacitor having a sufficient cell voltage or capacitor breakdown voltage. SOLUTION: In the battery and the electric double-layer capacitor, a base cell with a separator, a pair of electrodes layered opposite from each other with the separator in between, and an electrolyte is wrapped inside a resin sheet case. The base cells are layered in series via a sheet-like collector. The sheet-like collector is extended to the ends of the resin sheet case along the periphery of the base cells layered on both sides of the collector, and is bonded or fused to the ends of the resin sheet case. The base cells adjacent to each other via the sheet-like collector are separated liquid tight inside the resin sheet case. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
