PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable broadband and inexpensive distribution of position correction information and to realize high-accuracy positioning in real time. SOLUTION: First, a mobile base station 103 is used as a reference point 102. In many cases, the station 103 is basically installed in a place with an excellent communication environment, and has a power supply, a communication network, and a waste heat environment which are well-appointed because of the characteristics of its function. Also, in the case where a mobile base station is mounted with a GPS (global positioning system) depending on communication schemes, infrastructure can be built more inexpensively than in the case where infrastructure is built from scratch by using the station 103. In a method of providing position correction information, a part of the communication band used by the station 103 to specify the cell in which each mobile station exists or a part of the communication band of a mobile station 104 is fixedly apportioned to provide position correction information, and data are transmitted to the station 104 in a cell area in a broadcast type to reduce useless data transmission and curtail communication expenses.
