PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which can be prevented from being used illegally without forcing the owner to do intricate operation even when left as it is in the power-ON state and then stolen. SOLUTION: The portable terminal implements a plurality of functions according to the operation of the operator and has a detecting means which detects operation for implementing a 1st function, and a switching means for switching between a 1st mode in which it is assumed that the owner uses the portable terminal and a 2nd mode in which it is assumed that a 3rd person uses the portable terminal.
