PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-developable photosensitive material having high density, ensuring a small density change with age of the heat-developable photosensitive material and improved in powder falling and occurrence of unevenness in density and roller marks when processed with a heat developing apparatus and to provide an image recording method using the heat-developable photosensitive material. SOLUTION: In the heat-developable photosensitive material, a binder contained in an image forming layer and a binder contained in a layer adjacent to the image forming layer contain a common monomer component (hereinafter referred to as a monomer component A), and when the ratio of the mass of the monomer component A contained in the image forming layer to the mass of the binder contained in the image forming layer is represented by M1 and the ratio of the mass of the monomer component A contained in the layer adjacent to the image forming layer to the mass of the binder contained in the layer adjacent to the image forming layer is represented by M2, the formula 0.1≤M1×M2≤0.95 is satisfied.
