PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing an optical fiber cable with which the direction of the bending tendency of two or more supporting wires can be arranged and fixed and high flexibility is obtained, and to provide a manufacturing method for the same. SOLUTION: The plurality of supporting wires 2, 3 and 4 and a coated optical fiber 1 which are placed in parallel on the same flat surface 200 are covered with an outer sheath 21 to manufacture an optical fiber cable 5. The apparatus for manufacturing the optical fiber cable has a coating apparatus 13 for covering the coated optical fiber 1 with the outer sheath 21, and a plurality of rollers 10, 11 and 12 for supplying the plurality of supporting wires 2, 3 and 4 to the coating apparatus 13, respectively. The disk surfaces 10a, 11a, and 12a of the plurality of rollers 10, 11 and 12 are arranged in parallel each other. Tangent lines 10b, 11b and 12b turning to the coating apparatus 13 of the disks of the plurality of rollers 10, 11 and 12 are arranged on the same flat surface 200. The disk surfaces 10a, 11a and 12a of the plurality of rollers 10, 11 and 12 are arranged vertically to the same flat surface 200 of the tangent lines 10b, 11b and 12b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
