PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a special imaging element is required and the exposure time cannot be determined in a short time. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a detecting means 5 for detecting a photoelectric current to be discarded from an imaging element 1 by an electronic shutter pulse, and a means 6 for inferring the brightness of an object from the current detected by the means 5, to determine the exposure time for picking up an image by the element 1.
