PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error correction circuit for reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: This error correction circuit for decoding a cyclic code and repeating error correction processing predetermined n times (n is a natural number of 2 or more) is provided with an operation stopping means for stopping (m+1)-th to n-th error correction processing operations when all errors are corrected by m-th (m is a natural number) error correction processing, which is less than the n times.
