The removable front operating panel (7) for the automobile radio (1) is secured in place by a snap-fit coupling and acts as a switch wiper for transferring an operating force to at least one switch point (18) for the radio at the rear of the front operating panel, e.g. by depression of a push-button operating element (15) incorporated in the removable front operating panel.
