PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor that can easily obtain a lightness difference between an object to be detected (so-called work) and a background part, easily and precisely detect a detected part without enhancing detection precision of a detected portion itself so much, enhance reliability for the detection of the object to be detected, and shorten the image processing time. SOLUTION: This processor is characterized in that it is provided with a reference line setting means for setting a reference line L for image processing along a longitudinal direction on the detected object 2, and a determining means for setting a plurality of light and darkness level detecting portions 14-21 on the detected object 2j and a background located respectively in a prescribed distance position from reference positions 12, 13 for the detected portions 2N, 2E detected preliminarily on the reference line L, and for judge-determining the normality of the detection for the detected portions 2N, 2E when detected values in the light and darkness level detecting portions 14-21 are respectively within a prescribed range.
