PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilator which controls the ventilation of a building according to the temperature change of day and night or the like and improves the thermal insulating property of an exterior wall of the building. SOLUTION: This ventilator 1 is provided with: a case 2 specifying a communicating passage 8 for communicating the inside and outside of the exterior wall 100; a flap 3 mounted making one end swingable around a horizontal shaft 4 to open/close the communicating passage 8; a weight 5 fixed to the other end lower face of the flap 3; and a coil-like member 6 made of a shape memory alloy and fixed to the other end of the flap to control the opening of the flap 3. The coil-like member 6 expands/contracts corresponding to the temperature change of outside air to open/close the flap 3 mounted to the coil- like member 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
