PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine for enhancing the energy saving effect so as to reduce the power consumption. SOLUTION: When the facsimile machine shifts to an energy-saving mode, an energy-saving control section 31 confirms whether or not a nonvolatile memory 25 is mounted, reads a transmission start time of a transmission waiting file, sets the time to a clock 32 when the nonvolatile memory 25 is mounted and the transmission waiting file exists, stores the transmission waiting file to the nonvolatile memory 25, enters the energy-saving mode where a main power is turned off, the control section 31 immediately enters the energy-saving where the main power is turned off when the nonvolatile memory 25 is loaded but no transmission waiting file exists, and enters the energy-saving mode where the main power is turned on when no nonvolatile memory 25 is loaded.
