PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network management program capable of achieving normal operations among devices by making updates at the appropriate time if new devices are connected to a network. SOLUTION: It is determined whether or not a new device has been connected within a predetermined range of management on the network, according to a network management program which is stored in a predetermined device on the network and executed for the management of each device constituting the network; if it is determined that the new device has been connected, then it is determined whether or not an update file for the network management program exists within the storage area of the new device; if the update file is determined to exist there, the update file is read from the new device into the device which stores the network management program.
