PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-developable photosensitive material having high sensitivity and low fog and excellent in image preservability after heat development. SOLUTION: In the heat-developable photosensitive material having on a support a photosensitive layer comprising photosensitive silver halide grains, an organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a polymeric binder and an adjacent layer adjacent to the photosensitive layer and comprising a polymeric binder a carbodiimide compound is contained in at least one of the photosensitive layer and the adjacent layer and≥78 mass% of the organic silver salt is silver behenate. In a preferable aspect, a polyhalomethane compound is contained in at least one of the photosensitive layer and the adjacent layer of the heat- developable photosensitive material.
