PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold assembly which can suppress generation of a burr in a molded article and a method for restraining a mold. SOLUTION: A slide block 27 is provided between a fixed mold plate 11 and an intermediate mold plate 13, and a cam member 37, which moves the slide block 27, is provided on a core plate 12. When the mold is clamped, the slide block 27 is slid to move toward a fixed side core piece 52 and a movable side core piece 25, which form a cavity, by the cam member 37 moving in the direction A of mold clamping along with the core plate 12, and the slide block 27 is engaged in the fixed side core piece 52 and the movable side core piece 25. This results in restraining the fixed side core piece 52 and the movable side core piece 25 so as not to separate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
