摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding method and device capable of a high accuracy finish processing in which the actual cutting sharpness of a grinding wheel is taken into consideration after a coarse processing. SOLUTION: The grinding is conducted in the condition that the grinding wheel 20 installed at the tip of a grinding wheel shaft 18 and a work 10 are put in relative feeding in the depth feeding direction while the grinding wheel shaft 18 is rotated. The peripheral surface of the work 10 is subjected to a coarse processing while a depth feed operation part 32 controls the depth feed so that the rotational driving power is kept at the coarse processing target power, and then a finish processing is conducted with the depth feed controlled so that the rotational driving power is kept at the finish processing target power. A speed sensing part 34 senses the depth feeding speed as the relative feeding speed in the depth feed direction when the work is in the coarse processing, while a target power deciding part 38 sets a lower value Pf as the finish processing target power with a lower depth feeding speed.
