PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire cut electrical discharge machining machine and a wire cut electrical discharge machining method capable of reducing a running cost for greatly reducing manufacturing cost by economically using wire and supplementary parts. SOLUTION: This machine is provided with a collection device 14 winding and collecting wire 16 used in wire cut electrical discharge machining. The collection device 14 includes a collection reel 15 and the collection reel 15 is used in common with a supply reel 8. Used wire 16 collected on the collection reel 15 can be used for roughing of wire cut electrical discharge machining. Since the supply reel 8 after paying out new wire 16 can be used as a collection reel 15, wire 16 and supply reel 8 can be economically used, a running cost can be reduced and a manufacturing cost can be reduced.
